What is at the heart of our ministry? We try to describe it with the help of an acronym: LIGHT. Five core values build the foundation of all we do. APC exists to call the English speaking community of Bonn to Christ and Christlikeness by serving their needs.
L – Love one another. Jesus said that others would know that we are his followers by how we love each other (John 13:34-35). We seek to love one another in and through all of our various ministries.
I – Invite others to join us. Evangelism is not just for trained preachers; rather, it is the simple act of inviting others to discover the faith in Jesus Christ, which has changed our lives. We invite others to worship, to join us for special events, to participate in an ALPHA course or a Marriage Course. The Pastor also invites newcomers to his home for a welcome coffee 3-4 times per year for them to learn more about the life of the APC.
G – God at the center of all that we do. Learning to worship and know God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit must be at the center of who we are as a church (Rev. 7:17). Our preaching ministry is geared toward encouraging the congregation to grow to spiritual maturity in Jesus Christ (Col. 2:2-3).
H – Help one another. (Service/Missions) Our desire is to help others less fortunate than ourselves in our congregation, in Bonn and throughout the world. “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).

T – Teach and equip each other for life. In a wide variety of ministries and study groups we seek to build up one another in order to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, understanding both the faith and how it applies to life today (John 6:68).
